Tattoo Removal Machine FAQ
How Many Sessions Does Laser Tattoo Removal Take?
Many tattoos need around 6 to 12 sessions, often spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart, but the range can be shorter or much longer. Ink color, density, tattoo depth, skin considerations, cover-ups, professional versus amateur work, and laser type all affect the course.
Practices may sell session packages, but they should not promise full removal within a fixed number of visits.
Can Salons Legally Perform Tattoo Removal?
Rules vary by state. Some states require a physician, nurse, medical director, delegation agreement, laser certificate, or another form of supervision. Other states place different limits on salons and non-medical practitioners.
Three rules must stay separate:
- FDA clearance concerns the device and its intended use.
- State law decides who may operate the device.
- A manufacturer training certificate is not a state license.
Before ordering, check with your state medical or cosmetology board and your insurer. We can help you identify the equipment documents you may need, but local authorities decide who can provide treatment.
Do At-Home and Low-Cost Marketplace Machines Work?
A low-cost listing may use the same words, such as “Nd:YAG” or “picosecond”, while describing very different equipment. The real differences may include measured pulse width, delivered energy, spot size, cooling, wavelength accuracy, device documentation, warranty, parts, and service.
Small handheld pens and low-powered machines may produce slow or uneven fading. If the device is unsuitable or used incorrectly, burns, scars, and pigment changes are possible. A cheap machine can become expensive if it cannot deliver the service clients expect or has no repair support.
For a lower professional entry cost, start with the $2,500 EL400 and compare available financing. You are paying for a complete machine, known specifications, manufacturer warranty, shipping, and access to technical support, not only a product title.
