## How to Choose an RF Microneedling Machine

### Start with your business

**Starting your first service:** Look at the TM50B or Shape Vacuum system. Compare the treatments allowed by your license, included training and cartridge cost. Adjustable depth is useful, but only when you are allowed and trained to use it.

**Expanding a spa menu:** The Shape systems add vacuum, cooling and other tools. Choose them when those functions support services you plan to sell, not just because the machine has more handles.

**Running a clinic or med spa:** Compare RF delivery, maximum depth, cartridge design and regulatory status. The TM80 offers the widest stated depth range in this collection.

**Buying for home:** None of these machines is listed as a self-use device. Professional machines should not be bought as stronger home tools.

### Which specifications change the treatment?

All RF microneedling machines combine needles and radiofrequency energy. What changes is how they deliver it.

Depth, needle insulation, cartridge shape, RF type and energy control affect treatment capability. Screen size, saved settings and cooling handles mainly improve workflow and comfort. Both matter, but they do different jobs.

Adjustable depth is more useful than one headline maximum. Different areas and concerns need different settings. A shallow-only device may support surface texture, but it cannot copy professional treatment for deeper scars or laxity.

**Bipolar RF** passes energy between nearby points for controlled, more local heating. **Monopolar RF** uses a separate return path and may reach a broader or deeper area. The TM50B offers both.

Gold plating can support conductivity and smooth insertion. Insulated needles focus energy near the exposed tip. Non-insulated needles deliver heat along more of the needle. A cold hammer is a cooling tool used after a pass. These features matter most to busy operators who need exact control and a smooth client experience.

### There is no single “best” machine

Our best entry dedicated system is the **TM50B**. The **Shape Vacuum** is the lowest-priced multi-function choice. The **TM80** is the best fit for buyers who value a wide face-and-body depth range. The **Shape Targeted** suits spas that want several RF frequencies, vacuum support and cooling.

Morpheus8, Potenza and Genius sit in another part of the market. They offer proprietary systems, direct manufacturer channels and names some patients already know. They also cost much more. Our machines use the same broad needle-plus-RF principle, but we do not claim they have identical parts, performance or clinical results.

Brand pull may justify the higher cost for a clinic built around patient demand. It matters less when clients choose the provider, not the logo on the machine.

### What about home devices?

Home RF microneedling devices use shallower penetration and lower energy by design. They may support fine lines, texture, glow and maintenance. They should not be sold as a substitute for professional treatment of acne scars or clear skin laxity.

We do not currently offer one in this collection. If your main goal is a major visible change, book professional care rather than trying to adapt a clinic machine for home use.

## How RF Microneedling Works and What It Treats

The needles create controlled channels while RF energy is delivered below the skin surface. This controlled injury and heat response can support new collagen and changes in skin texture and firmness.

A standard microneedling pen creates channels but does not add RF heat. That is why a business may charge more for RF microneedling and use it for a wider set of texture and tightening goals. It is still a non-surgical treatment. It should never be presented as equal to a facelift.

Clients commonly seek treatment for:

- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Mild to moderate laxity
- Acne scars and other scars
- Enlarged pores
- Uneven texture or tone
- Stretch marks

Common areas include the face, jawline, neck, chest, abdomen and other suitable body areas. Good candidates have realistic goals and skin that is ready to heal. Treatment is normally delayed for active infection, open wounds, severe inflammation and other concerns found during screening.

RF is not a light-based treatment, so it can be suitable across a wider range of skin tones and through more of the year than many laser treatments. That does not mean risk is zero. Heat depth, settings, skin condition and operator skill still matter.

A common course is around three sessions, often spaced four to six weeks apart. Lighter texture goals may need less work. Scars or laxity may need a longer course, followed by maintenance. The operator should set the plan after consultation.

Short-term effects can include redness, mild swelling and pinpoint bleeding. Clients may also need a short break from makeup, direct sun and hard exercise. Less common problems include pigment change, burns or lasting grid marks. Good screening, clean cartridge use and controlled settings help reduce these risks.

Published research has found collagen and elastic-tissue changes after fractional bipolar RF, while clinical studies report improvement in concerns such as acne scars and facial texture. Results build over time and differ by client. RF microneedling does not remove heavy laxity, and poor client selection or technique can lead to weak results.

Better selling starts with better expectations. Promise a planned course and gradual change, not a new face after one session.

### Documenting Results

We only publish before-and-after images when the client has consented and the case details are clear.

**Caption format:** {{TREATMENT_AREA}} treated with {{MACHINE_OR_TIER}} over {{SESSION_COUNT}} sessions. After image taken {{TIME_AFTER_FINAL_SESSION}}. Individual results vary.

## License Limits, FDA Status and Machine Safety

Esthetician rules differ by state. Some states limit needle depth. Others require extra credentials, medical supervision or a medical director. Nurses and other medical professionals may have wider scope, but they must still follow local rules.

This matters before you buy. Shallow-only authority may not support the deeper work linked with scar or laxity treatments. Check your current state-board rule before ordering. We can help you find the right board or agency, though we cannot give legal advice.

For many estheticians, the TM50B and Shape Vacuum system are practical starting points because they offer adjustable depth at a lower machine cost. Adjustability can also keep the machine useful if you later work under a permitted supervisory setup.

### FDA wording matters

- **FDA cleared** means a device completed the relevant premarket review for its stated use and has a verifiable clearance.
- **FDA registered** may describe an establishment or device listing. It is not the same as clearance.
- **Neither** means those statuses have not been shown and the buyer is relying on the manufacturer’s other records and claims.

We state the exact status on each listing and include a clearance number when one applies. We do not use “FDA approved” as a loose sales phrase.

A safer machine should insert and retract cleanly, stop in a controlled way, use sterile single-use cartridges and let the operator control depth and energy. Cooling may improve comfort, but no feature replaces training.

**Demonstration video caption:** Watch the setup, cartridge change and treatment pass. The needles should enter smoothly, retract fully and leave no skin drag.

## Training, Warranty, Support and Running Costs

### Training and certification

Training varies by model and is stated on each listing.

{{PROFESSIONAL_MACHINE_TRAINING_DETAILS_BY_MODEL}}

The training record should explain whether teaching is live remote, video-based or in person. It should also cover consultation, screening, treatment planning, protocols and safe setup. A certificate of completion records training; it does not override state licensing rules.

### Warranty and US support

The TM80 and TM50B include a three-year warranty. Both Shape Tactics systems include a two-year warranty.

{{WARRANTY_COVERAGE_EXCLUSIONS_CLAIM_PROCESS_AND_MANUFACTURING_ORIGIN_BY_MODEL}}

Longevity Based is your US point of contact for technical questions, manufacturer coordination, replacement parts, cartridge orders and service. Available manuals, setup videos, protocol guides and warranty documents depend on the model.

Call **+1 (800) 686-5898** or email **support@longevitybased.com**, Monday through Friday, 9am–6pm Pacific Time.

### Estimating payback

Use this simple formula:

**Machine price ÷ net income per session = estimated sessions to repay the machine**

If your net income after the cartridge and other direct costs is $250 per session, the rough totals would be:

- Shape Vacuum: about 12 sessions
- TM50B: about 15 sessions
- Shape Targeted: about 17 sessions
- TM80: about 19 sessions

This is an example, not an earnings promise. Use your own treatment price, current cartridge cost, financing payment, labor and overhead. A lower-cost machine may repay sooner. A multi-function machine may support more paid services, but only if clients book them.

## Shipping, Returns, Financing and Demonstrations

Checkout is protected with encrypted SSL security. After ordering, you will receive {{POST_CHECKOUT_CONFIRMATION_AND_SETUP_PROCESS}}. Clinics and groups can ask about B2B or multi-unit pricing before checkout.

### Avoid lookalikes

A low-priced device using a famous or similar name is not the genuine manufacturer platform. Check the real maker, model name, serial details, FDA wording, warranty provider and US support contact.

We list each machine under its actual manufacturer name. We do not rename equipment to make it look like Morpheus8, Potenza, Genius or another system.
